Vacation Rental Property
If you've ever dreamed of being your families hero, than this private, Maine coast island can help make that dream come true. The minute one steps onto it’s glistening shores, you can imagine Peter Pan and the lost boys emerging from the forests edge or Max and the ‘Wild Things’ dropping from mossy tree’s. Unspoiled, uncrowded and largely unknown, Eaton’s Island preserves a beauty and magic of a fictional place suspended in time.
The Islands cottage is a classic Maine shingled Cape tucked away between spruce and birch trees. Four bedrooms, a functional kitchen/dining area and a large family room boasting a fantastically huge, granite fire place. The interior is rustic, yet charming with local art work peppering the walls.....but please do remember this is an island. There is no electricity and no running water. Everything a person needs for languor days is afforded; it just takes a little forethought and ingenuity to enjoy it in true Down East style.

There are multiple beaches on the island. As you walk the length of each, believing it’s the last, you round a point and there’s another waiting to be explored. The wooded interior is crisscrossed with hiking trails that traverse through moss covered evergreens, small grassy clearings and over large rocky outcroppings and just when you think you’ve touched the entire island, the receding ocean tide reveals a sand bar that invites exploration of ‘Little Eaton’s’ Island.....but don’t stay too long or the tide will keep you.
The 20 acre, Eaton’s island is just moments from the main land and a romantic, oceanfront restaurant that provides a float and dock for diners sailing in. Extended parking may be bartered through a bordering property owner for a small fee.

The cottage offers guests two double size beds, four twins and a queen. There is a radio/CD/cassette player, an abundance of books and board games, an antique wood cook stove as well as a more modern Coleman stove, coolers, solar shower bag, fire wood, basic pantry items and a good supply of drinking water. Guests are required to have their own boat, linens & towels and have some experience with wood heat/cooking and kerosene lanterns.....not to mention an independent nature.
You don’t find this kind of thing anywhere; this is a unique island escape with no phone, no deadlines and no alarm clocks.....just your own private paradise. Come be a Hero!
