Vicksburg is a quaint town located on the Mississippi River and is rich in civil war history. The Vicksburg National Military Park is located here and is the best preserved battlefield in the country. In additon, Vicksburg has several beautiful antebellum and postbellum homes open for tours. The quaint downtown has wonderful shopping and restaurants and offers casino gambling.

Ahern's Belle of the Bends is a classic Italianate all brick mansion sitting on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. It is one of the best preserved homes of it's type in the state of Mississippi and is the only home to feature oval arched woodwork and trim interiorally as well as gold leaf moldings throughout. Exquisite Bavarian Plaster moldings are showcased as well in this magnificent postbellum home. Beautiful antiques throughout. Double verandahs wrap around 3 sides of the home that offer beautiful views of the Mississippi RIver. Resplendent gardens feature brick partierre gardens, many statuaries, azaleas, camillias, dogwoods and stately Magnolia trees. There is a lovely gift shop located on the grounds that features antiques, local artesian works and victorian inspired gifts.
