Description of Surrounding Area

Sunset Inn's three lovely cabins are far from the crowds, yet in close proximity to all the natural wonders of Yosemite National Park. Situated within an ancient forest, at 4,500 ft. elevation, Sunset Inn is tucked away on a lush, private meadow, surrounded by huge aromatic pines, fresh air and star studded nights. A quiet, peaceful mountain setting, one mile away from the highway. We are located just 2 miles from the Highway 120, west entrance to Yosemite National Park at the Big Oak Flat gate, 150 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area, about 60 miles from Merced, and about 70 miles from both Fresno, and Lee Vining.

Three unique cabins: Two lovely two person cabins, both recently remodeled and highlighted with beautiful wood interiors, each have a king or queen size bed, well equipped kitchen, private bathroom with shower and sky lights, cozy wood burning stove (firewood is provided), and sun porch. The family cabin, also recently remodeled is handsomely done in the "Craftsman" style of fine woodworking. This studio cabin is arranged with a queen bed in the main room, and a double and single bed in the other, a well equipped kitchen, dining area, private bathroom with shower, and propane heating including a gas parlor stove so you can watch the fire burn. This cabin sits overlooking our lovely meadow with a roomy sun porch; ideal for taking in those sunsets for which we are so aptly named. This beautiful cabin will accommodate up to 5 guests.

Two cabins sleep 2 or 3 guests. Family cabin sleeps up to 5.

Amenities

All three cabins have well equipped kitchens. Beautiful quilts adorn the beds. Towels and soap are provided in the bathrooms.Each cabin has a game cupboard with board games, puzzles and playing cards. Available on the grounds are charcoal barbecues for each cabin, as well as a picnic table, swing, fort and frog pond.Cell reception is limited however we do have a telephone available on the premises. And, yes, bring your laptop, we now have satellite/wireless internet available!

Services Offered

Sunset Inn is an ideal home base for your "Yosemite Adventure". Local activities include: Hiking, Rock Climbing, White Water Rafting, Fishing, Swimming, Bicycling, Birding, Horseback Riding, Cross Country and Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, and Snow Shoeing. Or do nothing, relax & enjoy. We won't tell. Come up for air, stars, mountains, trees and divine seclusion.

Restrictions

All three cabins are non-smoking. Families are welcome. Pets are occasionally allowed, with certain restrictions, by prior arrangement.

Rates & Availability

Rates:$140 to $180 per night, double occupancy $180 to $230 family cabin up to 4 guests$10 per night, each additional adult guest $5 per night, each additional child under 12. Add $10 for holidays. Add 8% county bed tax. *Rates subject to change.*

Other Information

Check-in time is between 3 and 6 pm. Check-out time is 10:30 am.

Cancellation policy: Please give us at least 30 days notice (60 days for a stay of 4 or more nights, or mulitple cabins) to avoid a charge of 50%, if the cabin is not re-booked. Full charge on any change or cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival.

Along with your reservation confirmation we will send you driving directions to Sunset Inn, as well as local information including gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants, etc.
