Typical Day
Our goal is to let you experience the beauty and excitement felt by the Voyageurs three hundred years ago. Except that you'll be using light weight gear, you'll eat sumptuous meals, and most importantly, you'll have time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.Trip example: When they pulled into Voyageur North, Lynn had all the gear in Duluth packs and ready to go. John reviewed the route that he had helped Greg and Mike plan, making notes about good campsites on the map for them. The Voyageur North crew put the Wenonah Minnesota II Kevlar canoe on top of the car and sent the two off toward Mudro Lake, about ten miles north of Ely. Greg and Mike pushed off from the Mudro put-in at one that afternoon under sunny skies. "The Wenonah Kevlar canoe was easy to lift and carry. I don't think I'll ever want to portage another kind of canoe.", said Greg. Three easy portages brought them to Fourtown Lake where they set up their first nights camp at a beautiful open site on the east side of the lake around five. Lynn had packed chicken filets, boiled potatoes, and cheese cake for dinner.
